Why Is Arab Leadership a Deciding Force in Israel, While Indian Muslim Leadership Remains Powerless in India?

In Israel, Arab political parties have established their political importance among the major Jewish parties, but why do Muslims in India still depend on Congress and other secular parties to defeat the BJP? Is independent Muslim leadership the alternative to this political dependence?

In the recent election results in Israel, Netanyahu has suffered a defeat. However, Netanyahu’s party, the Likud Party, remains the largest party with 27 seats. In comparison, Gadi Eisenkot and his political party, Yashar Party, are the second-largest party with 21 seats.

According to the results announced in October 2026, no alliance has managed to secure a majority. Out of a total of 120 seats, securing 61 seats is necessary to form a government. On one side, the alliance of Netanyahu’s Likud Party with far-right political parties and ultra-Orthodox Jewish religious parties has won 53 seats, while on the other side, the alliance of Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar Party with various Jewish political parties has won 48 seats.

The interesting development here is that the alliance of Arab-led political parties has won 19 seats, which is its biggest victory so far. And, in a way, the key to forming the government has now come into their hands. Although some complications still remain.

The Arab alliance is ready to join Eisenkot’s Yashar Party. But the other Jewish political parties that are part of the alliance with Yashar Party have already stated that they will not join hands with Arab parties.

Another important point is that these are not the final results. The votes of soldiers, diplomats, patients admitted to hospitals, and others are still to be counted, which account for 7 percent. So far, 93 percent of the votes have been counted.

Once the counting of the remaining votes is also completed, Israeli President Isaac Herzog will begin the process of forming a government. Until then, Netanyahu will remain the caretaker Prime Minister. Let’s see what happens. Whether Netanyahu leaves or makes a comeback, only time will tell.

But for now, the success of Arab parties in Israel has caused extremist Jewish podcasters, YouTubers, and media outlets to raise a huge uproar.

What deserves consideration is whether political leadership for Indian Muslims is possible in India, just as Arab leadership exists in Israel.

Does Asaduddin Owaisi also want to gain the same space that Arab-led political parties have created between the Likud Party and Yashar Party in Israel?

Because Asaduddin Owaisi’s politics is opposed to both Congress and the BJP. Asaduddin Owaisi also talks about Muslims having their own leadership, independent of Congress and the BJP, and separate from secularism and Hindutva.

Muslims are the second-largest population group in India. If they want, they can create their own third alternative alliance, separate from the Congress alliance and the BJP alliance. In this way, they can play a decisive role between Congress and the BJP.

Asaduddin Owaisi appears to emphasize this very point. He wants Muslims in India to have their own political leadership, one that can play a decisive role between the Congress alliance and the BJP alliance.

But Indian Muslims have become so deeply filled with an inferiority complex that they cannot even imagine that they, too, can play an influential role in Indian politics. They vote for Congress and other so-called secular parties merely to defeat the BJP.

If an Indian Muslim were in Israel, he would vote for Eisenkot merely to defeat Netanyahu.

But the Arabs living in Israel did not do that. It is completely clear that they, too, wanted to defeat Netanyahu, but even then, they chose the path of their own leadership.

Certainly, even if Netanyahu leaves and Eisenkot comes to power, better days will still not come for Palestine and the Arabs living in Israel. Because there is not much difference between Netanyahu and Eisenkot. But if Eisenkot becomes the Prime Minister of Israel with the support of Arab-led political parties, the harm he could cause can be prevented to a considerable extent.

This is what real strategy looks like.

Not simply choosing the lesser evil between a greater evil and a lesser evil, as Indian Muslims have been doing.

Both the BJP and Congress have been harmful to the Muslims of India. But the leaders of Indian Muslims support Congress and other so-called secular parties like it, and justify this by saying that they are choosing the less harmful option between the less harmful and the more harmful. Whereas, by establishing their own political leadership, they could also significantly reduce the harm caused by these so-called secular parties.

But when decline has become so deeply ingrained in their hearts, minds, and veins, how can they understand anything?

If Indian Muslims want, they can establish their own leadership in every state of India, capture the space between right-wing and left-wing parties, and play a decisive role in forming secular governments in every state.

This could significantly control the harm and injustice caused by those governments.

Perhaps this is exactly what Asaduddin Owaisi wants to do. This is exactly what Badruddin Ajmal wants to do. This is exactly what K. M. Kader Mohideen wants to do.

But Indian Muslims are not ready to listen to them.

Instead, they listen to those leaders suffering from an inferiority complex who say that the leader of Indian Muslims can only be a Hindu, and who present voting for those so-called secular parties in the name of secularism, merely to defeat Hindutva supporters and right-wing parties, as a wise strategy.

These are the very parties that have left no stone unturned in ruining the condition of Indian Muslims and have spared no effort in causing them harm.

Today, Israel’s election results and the decisive victory of Arab-led political parties are a major lesson for Indian Muslims and their leaders suffering from an inferiority complex. If only Indian Muslims would learn from this lesson and give their politics a new direction.
